I'll be in- digital video camera and all. (and editing etc if reqd).
Might actually do it faster than the one of Neil doing his finishing demo for the club - eh Gumby!
You coordinating it Gumby? Got some topics in mind? Probably good to have a list of contributers, their specialties and then farm topics out to the individuals. With a deadline!!! (Cause I don't work well without them!)
Like the blog idea as well, although this site is basically a superblog anyway. (and a blog is harder to moderate, which is needed looking at all the clowns trying to hijack this thread).
Hmm just read Gumby's first thread again - last paragraph. You are your own worst enemy - incorrigible."Clear, Ease Springs"

Anyway. I'd be happy to accept the vids and convert/edit and/or create a DVD for them.
The question seems to be who we get to do a section and what do we include.
I'm thinking it could be anything that you feel inspired or inclined to do. It doesn't need to be much. Rather than somebody saying to Midge do this blah blah... I'd rather Midge (only an example here BM) volunteer to do a section on whatever he feels would be worthwhile. I thought of the jointer/thicknesser thing only because it seemed so hard to convey in words.
I also just remembered that video Stuart took of Neil at the Triton Club. He may want to see it first and do a bit of cutting (or I could do it under direction) but that would be a fabulous video file which I'm sure most forumites would want. We could then use that as the starting point and add bits as we go. It may take a while but eventually we'd have a pretty good resource. A DVD will hold about 2 hours in normal mode so there's lots of room for other things. Even the basics of standing on the correct side of a table saw have taken up lots of discussion in here. Bandsaw, router tables, jigs (hello Sturdee, are you listening), Wood Borer on hand cut dovetails, could be added. If it isn't a DVD, it could just be a library of stuff. I just think that a DVD with it all included would be very popular. Only one problem though...who does the sharpening section. If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

If it's freely available, how do you stop a sleazebag coming along and copying it and then selling it?
I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just playing Devil's advocate.

Sounds like a great idea but it will be a lot of work and potentially benefit only a few people.
More importantly who is going to take on the sharpening section?Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

So all you can do is copyright it inside and outside and be prepared to hammer a thief into the ground when you catch one (NOT IF - WHEN)

I have a legal software called Movie plus 5 Serif (including all manuals), came as a freebie after some hassle with Serif. Serif told me I could give it to charity, so if this program could be used let me know.

Thanks John but converting the files to DVD format, or any other format is pretty easy and i have several programs which will do it. However, if you want to do a short section on the Triton and outdoor furniture, that could be very helpful.

OK Gumby, I'll see what I can do.
However I do have a very tight schedule at the moment I booked my air tickets to OZ this morning (24th Sept London/ Melbourne) and already Janet wants to get the cases down.woody U.K.
