Inspiration for small piece of Meranti
Im looking for some inspiration for a small piece of meranti I cut from some door jams I was making. I liked the figured look of it, and just thought there may be something I can use it in?
There's not much too it, 300mm by 90mm by 14mm.There was a young boy called Wyatt
Who was awfully quiet
And then one day
He faded away
Because he overused White
Floorsanding in Canberra and Albury.....

Split it in to 2x veneers, bookmatch them and use them as the feature centre panel of a frame and pannel piece (box, door, etc)

I reckon Dave has made a good suggestion. A box lid would be a good choice.
You just don't have enough for anything else.
Interesting piece of timber BTW. Are you sure it's meranti?
I've never seen any with that sort of figure before, also the colour is much darker than the meranti I'm used to.

You can build anything you like just scale it down. Re-saw it and make a scale chest of drawers, this could be the excuse to buy some of those small precision hand tools.
HH.Always look on the bright side...
