Question How to iron-on thin pvc edge banding

I have one question.I have some 0.4mm pre glued pvc edge banding. Now I wanna stick it on wood by hot iron.
When I heat it,if the iron's temperature is lower it does not stick with the surface and if the tempersture is higher enough to stick with the surface . this temperature burned the banding.i want to learn how the hot melt glue banding can be used.what adhesive they use to stick it with the wood if we don't use the hot melt glue?
I only have a hot iron.

I think you've posted to the wrong area

but ... anytime I've edge banded I've used a sheet of brown paper between the iron and the banding, and you must make sure the glue is well and truly melted and bonded onto the edge

I think it is just a form of hot melt glue

    Default PVC edging

Forget the hot iron and use hot air from a hair dryer.
Roll the edgeing inside out put it over a bit of broom handle and play the hot air on the glue side. as the edgeing gets hot push it down and guide it along the edge to be covered.

At work we used to do it with the iron on the highest straight on the tape, just keep it moving and it won't burn, and press down straight after with a wood block.

Then we got an edgebander - Best. Idea. EVER.
