No NSAIDs, alas, got also high blood pressure. Only good old colchicine. Unfortunately it started hitting me long before I had the time to actually do woodworking, so don't worry about that. Sentiments reciprocated.

Frank I think any outstanding orders will stay as outstanding and the new owners will not have any undertaking to fill any orders.

They have purchased the goods and chattels and will be starting with a clean slate.

The onus is on the people who can prove that they have an oustanding order and have a reciept to prove payment that they contact the liquidators and get in line with everyone else to get reimbersed. From what I have heard it is a very long line so anything forthcoming will be very minimal to zero.

Sorry to hear that, Jim. The previous posts said "as a going concern" and I thought that the business still had a marginal value. If it was only a purchase of the assets as a single lot it's another ball park. Hope you have not been hit too hard. I have a suspicion that GPW might have been burnt a bit.

If anyone has an outstanding purchase from them and paid for by credit card get in touch with your credit card company as soon as possible and have the charge reversed.

Much better to have the charge reversed than to proof your debt to the liquidator and hold your hand out for eventually a few cents in the dollar.

I was one of the lucky ones. Kept him on a very short lead.

As peter indicated go to your credit card people and get the reversal done.

Been outta the loop for a while come on back to this sort of news, hell tough on Michael (aka Mik International)bloody nice bloke and good to deal with over the years the new owners have got big boots to fill.

Heading on over to the East side of Oz and it would have been one of the points of call ,will have to check out the new blokes to see how they measure up but if they have the same good nature of MIK then they'll service the Adelaide WW community in the same fashion as with the previous occupier of the business.

Good luck to them in their forthcoming WW enterprise.

    Cheers

My guess is that they will look for synergy with the diy restauration market and abandon the machinery side, the potential clientele is much wider than hobby woodworking. I bought stuff from them long before I even knew of MIK's existence, they would be a better outlet for marketing Ubeaut products, for example.
