I managed to cut joints for the joists (I'm using 25mm deep rebate in the beams to locate and fix the joists) into 4 of the 6 200x50 flooded gum beams that are going to support my new mezzanine - all offset by 150mm. Luckily I had more 200x50. Anyone want any 175x50x4500 flooded gum boards?
    Cheers,
    Craig

I cut a new length of cloth backed paper for my drum sander, cut the mitres on the opposite sides, fits beautifully-with the cloth side out only:mad: .

So who else suffered this weekend just gone due to, a full moon rising?

Well I don't feel so stupid anymore. Especially after reading the vise and box quote.

My my boof headed moment was I dry fitted and then glued up a coffee table frame that I have been making for SHMBO. After the glueup I then noticed that one of the legs had the tapers on the outside and not the inside like all the rest. Bugger, I had cut the mortices on the wrong sides of that leg.

What really angered me is it took me so long to notice. I had sanded everything beautifully and dry fitted it all etc... All without even thinking about it. Anyway, at least the glue hadn't quite gone off. So one new leg later all is now well.

Well... sigh... was I affected by a full moon risin yer ask?
    hows it goin yer ask?

    Well...

First up I beat yer by near on a week... sigh... I went to work... sigh... yep cought the silver duck and soared the heavens into the stark hot interior of this fine state... sigh... yep... sigh... way way up north where the sun shines hot and dry where the nights never get below 25C and the days sizzle with perfection at around 44C... sigh

To work I went... sigh... Monday was a bonus supposed to work Monday night after the flight and was given the night off "Days only for you sonshine" whahoo! I thought as I headed back to camp... so I had a night off... sigh... Tuesday of to work sigh... truck broken... sigh... spare truck done brokden too... sigh off down the hole helpin the service crew for the arvo... sigh... Im gettin way too old for that shyte I can tell you!

Sooo... Wednesday came along bloody brilliant day soarin temps and sunny skies huge wedgies cruisin the sky dingos out along the scarp death adders beneath every rock and dune... sigh... worked my bum off down the hole assistin the service crew yet again... I AM DEFINANTLY TOO FRIGGIN OLD for that shyte!... back to camp in the evenin feelin pretty damned good healthy you know

Band night!! WHAHOOOOOOO!!! seems some get goer in the social club decided that a band was needed out at the mine camp!! so theyd organized it for a shift change night... smart eh?... the shift usually has 25 med on the crew... Thursday came nice and warm scruffy headed bleary eyed yobs clambered abourd the bus to the site crawlin on all fours screamin for silence from the flies and gettin no sympathy or pity... I bounded onto the bus after a brilliant breaky and with packed lunch in hand I was ready!! I KNEW there would be a truck available today! well ALL the trucks would be available actually since every truck driver was still rather over the limit and would/was sent back to camp to sleep it off... cept me!

So there we are the crew of 10... 15 got sent back... so Im happy as a emu on steriods bein chased by ol man roo... suddenly Im coughin... just one or two through the first part of the safety meetin... then suddenly Im hackin and coughin my head off a lot of dirty looks from around the room and I make my way out to the OH&S boys "Give us somethin for this bloody cough will yer mate?" after listenin to me for a few tics this bright spark nodds tiscs and says "get yer bum in the ute mate yer off to the medic" "buggar that mate giveus a friggin losenge an I'll get to work" all intersperced with hackin barkin coughs... and off we go... to the medics... sigh

Medic takes one look... sigh... "tisc tisc tisc sounds pretty bad mate" hack cough cough phlem "yeah" so he hands me a bottle of some goop that contains morphine which Im majorly allergic to (ala it kills me pretty damned quick unless I get intensive medical help) so I toss it back and try to explain then get smart and offer up my arm with medic alert attached... sigh he reads it... sigh again... gives me a bottle of seniga and amonia and sends me to friggin bed for the flamin day!!! SHYTE!!! but suddenly Im seriously feelin like the north end of a south bound camel all over and bed doesnt seem so bad after all

sigh... so I spend the day snoring well intersperced by major coughin hot and cold fits that is I get through the day... see the medic in the evening get some antibiotics some other drugs and orders to see him in the am... so off I go back to my room and a night of coughin hackin phlem spitting troubles... mornin comes and Im really seriously buggared and about now I start thinkin maybe just maybe Im in a bit of trouble here... precise words used by the medic by the way as he signed the form for the emergency seat on the plane out that arvo... someones gonna be phissed off when they find out Ive knicked their seat home!

Anyway flight home on Friday arvo... gotta feel for the poor Indian fella that sat next to the coughing hackin phlem spittin git for 3 flamin hours... very polite them Indian blokes though thanked me profusely for bein "a very good seat partner for the entire flight thank you very much" amazing... anyway decided I was too buggared to drive anywhere so stayed over night at my daughters now deserted place in Perth as theyre between homes right now movin south... so there I stayed overnight... sigh

SATURDAY... the weekend right?... sigh... woke up worse than Id ever felt in my life coughin chest hurtin like blazes headache like a trainwreck... not good josophine... sigh... decided there was nothin for it but to get into the F100 and slowly make my way south to home... medication wont affect me!! Im tuff as guts miner right?... sigh

So there I am doodlin along well under the speedlimit... watchin the world go by... great scenery between Perth and Pinjarra I mean some seriously big trees and such along the roadways... colors? MAN it was amazin!! trucks were a bit of a bummer though tended to make me wander onto the gravel edge more than once... sigh

Got to just north of Waroona and decided Id better stop for a drink or something... woke up an hour later parked up against the largest Jarrah near the roadhouse... man!! sigh... so I ring the mob and put the call out for rescue.. an hour later Im asleep in the son-in-laws car bein driven home while the son is drivin the F100 in the rear... I woke up as we drove into the bloody Bunbury hospital emergency carpark

Sigh... so after spending all arvo and evening in the emergency department then the night and morning in the high dependancy unit... I woke on Sunday arvo with phenomia pluracy and a severe chest infection causing angina... thank you kindly!!

Only shame of it was that they couldnt pin it down to Legionaires desease... if they could have then the health dept would have to go to NIFTY COPPER MINE in the Great Sandy Desert Western Australia and check the friggin single persons quaters aircons! but they couldnt so they wont which no doubt will mean someone else will get bloody sicker than shyte... mind you what I ended up with was bad enough buggar gettin legionaires!

Anyways I took myself out of there yesty arvo on strict conditions of "ANY problem whatever I go straight back"... so far no real probs... sigh... well none Im tellin about!!! BUGGAR THAT PLACE FOR A JOKE!!!

ahem... sigh... dont get me wrong Bunbury Regional Hospital is a bloody good hospital its just when they put someone in the medical wards they seem to have no friggin idea!!

An you think you had a bad weegen? HA!!! I laugh at your bad weegen!!!
Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Shane wins just coz I couldn't be bothered reading all that shyte.

Monday night, pulled up a bloke who wasn't wearing a seatbelt. He wins the attitude test for the night. Had a look at his car and note a defect notice on the window. Not to be driven after 9am that morning. Car still has bald tyres, broken headlight, etc. It was a shyteheap. Three tickets to the winner. Winner goes right off. Kicked both mirrors OFF. Jumped up and down on the bonnet, threw the keys as far as he could. We laughed and left him to it after telling him he can't drive the car.

After doing a bit of running around there he is again, doing laps of town. Two more tickets for you my friend. Second time around, very polite, even called me sir.

    Typical full mooner.
