I don't have an issue with the home made table saw idea but the original question was how to break down large sheets. I would have thought that to make the table saw you will need to break down some large sheets so you're still going to need a process to do it in order to get the table saw made?
Just looks a little chicken or the egg from where I'm sittingIt's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

I certainly relate to the difficulties faced by not having access to a tablesaw N i guess its a piece of kit every woodie dreams of having access to in their home setup..........
Ive tried all sorts a weird n wonderful ways of ripping n cross cutting without a tablesaw with limited success n consistency.......................

I reckon its a Gem n until 'that day' you get your hands on a TAblesaw its the ducks guts in cutting n ripping sheet goods and stock!!!
Definitely a system worth considering!..........................N something I have faithfully relied upon for many years
