The old 8in jointers are sold out now. We have a new model going online in the next day or so, but it will be back at the standard rrp because... its the new model.
Was a good special while it lasted but everything comes to an end eventually.

We have carefully re-evaluated the offer and at this stage we have decided not to go ahead with the offer. Thank you to everyone who responded to this thread, it means a lot that you were willing to give us some important feedback.
We still have a site-wide special available to customers who place their orders online.
I hope that you can understand that we try to do the best by our customers, but unfortunately we could just not make this offer work to everyone's favour, especially customers in other states who would probably see this as unfair.
Thanks again for your input.

By the way Hague, You have probably just sent most of your Victorian customers to Carba-tec. More so than if you had not got on here and made the offer in the first place.

Don't worry Dan, I think there'll be a face or two over there turning the same colour as the machines

Bob,
I'm not saying I will never shop there again. I have no preference betwen the two. What I am saying is that there were a lot of people who were ready to place orders for big, heavy stuff. Those customers will probably now go to Carba-Tec just to save hundreds of dollars in shipping.

Don't write Paul and Co. off just yet
Hi All
I think you may be interested to know the business formally known as CARBA_TEC VIC is still up and running but under a new name, Paul and the guys there will be changing quite a few things now that they are free from CARBA_TEC, there are plans for new lines from some new suppliers.
I should think it would make quite a bit more sense for you Victorians to support a local business than someone from interstate. Paul and the staffat Bayswater have been to hell and back lately and maybe a bit of local support would be good for all concerned.
Cheers
Graeme

Business wise, a little perplexed...
If Hague (Perth) and Carba-Tec (Brisbane) can post here soliciting business, why does not Paul from a (new) store in Bayswater, not make his business plans known to the forum?
"All's well that ends..."

CT offer to us in Victoria of 10 % discount and freight free is real and is better than your offer would have been.
Because of your caving in to the moaners and whingers in other states you have lost me as a customer.

Don't be too hard on Timbecon. They never promised that they would do the almost free freight thing. Also, had they not brought this up it is likely that Carba-Tec in Brisbane wouldn't have given us the offer they did.
