Perth Source for Timber
As per my other thread, I'm going to make the rocker legs of my chair out of laminated jarrah. Can anyone recommend the cheapest place in town to get jarrah 50mm wide and about 1700 long.
Ideally for a poor uni student, does anyone know of any companys that would toss out stuff that size - I have access to thicknessers and buzzers at uni so I can easily trim to the 6mm thickness that I need.
If the thicknesser and buzzer were mine, demo yard timber would be an option but the workshop techs won't allow second hand jarrah.
Cheers
Paul

Hi Mate,
I get a lot of my Jarrah at Gunn`s on Orrong rd, just east of the leach hwy overpass.
They quite often have discount bits & Pieces outside their main warehouse, might be worth a look.

Try Hamiltons Saw Mill in Perth they have the woodworker in mind and supply to students of a woodworking school in Geraldton.
Heading down very soon to have a look myself
