A friend of mine bought one for his daughter. I was admiring it and all the brass fittings that went with it. It also came complete with tubes of paint. I was working out what the time and cost to build one for my daughter would be, until they told me the cost.
$100 at K Mart. For that price you could not buy or make it cheaper even if it fell off the back of a truck. It did not look like the normal K Mart junk either.
I suggest you have a look to see if they are still available, even if you decide to make one you will have some article to compare with,
