Where to purchase good screws?
Anyone know of a good online supplier for purchasing good quality woodworking screws? I did type "screws" in my browser but that brought up all sorts of non-woodworking information!

I suppose your search brough up the 'screw shops'
I went into C****try's Fasteners on Tuesday to get some bolts. After standing at the counter for a while and having pressed the bell a few times ( apparantly it doesn't work, so it may be of no use to the customer but the staff love it ) a lady apeared. She wasn't very friendly at first, I must have interrupted a chat or something. After a while a thought passed my mind, I wondered how many guys have asked her for a screw................ After all, she sells screws!
Anyway I had a quiet chuckle. What a lucky dude she is!

What sort of screws are you after? Sachys-Robertson sell the Robertson square drive screws as do Timbecon.

There are also the Kreg square drives which are available from Woodworkers Warehouse and Carbatec.
Variety of sizes and coarse or fine threads.
Cheaper by the 500 packs too.Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

My experience:
Timbecon for small quantities of Sachys-Robertson, for large, go direct. Only screws of any quality I have found, decent metal, good pitch, sharp edges, but best of all, square drive!
p.s. Where can i buy square drive drivers in this country, one's gone walkabout, 'tother is one of those combo drivers and is starting to slip!

where do you get a decent screw?
well I think of the need on sunday,
plan it on monday
ask very very nicely on tuesday ....
and Sachys- Robertson deliver in the mail on Friday!
excellent screws, large or small quantity ... and square drive!

Both of the suppliers you mentioned sell both the manual type and the mechanical drive ones in all sizes."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

G'day.
For a square drive bit for the drill, I got a stuffed phillips no.2 and ground it square. Works a treat.
Hooroo.
