    Default recycled timber qn

I have been planning a proper big bed for my nearly 4yo daughter all year but still haven't started it .

I have acquired a generous quantity of 35yo rough sawn hardwood (mixed ash-ish eucalypt) - mostly 4x2 or 4x1.5.

For at least the main head/foot/side rails I will have to join two boards to make up 15cm width. For the legs I will have to join two boards to get enough thickness.

Tonight's question is - should I mill the boards all around before biscuit jointing them together OR just run one side and one edge over the jointer?

Its up to you but I would give them a quick dress all round and machine to slightly oversize...Once glued up, then machine to final size.
Mainly so you can see what grain/figure you have, plus it makes biscuiting/clamping much easier.
