Surprises in timber
We go through a lot of American timber at work and every now and then we find a bullet embedded in a board, so when the boss saw a small bit of metal in a piece of White Ash he thought nothing of it... until he tried to remove it. After digging about 20mm deep and with the aid of some vice grips, he removed this:

It's a stellite (carbide?) tipped bandsaw tooth about 2mm thick. I'll bet whoever was running the mill that day had to change their trousers after that, they might need a new blade as well
Anyone else found something that shouldn't have been there?

Quarter of a C1900 brick about 70mm below the surface of 250mm dia limb I was chopping up with a chainsaw, sparks instead of sawdust, closely followed by chain shedding about half it's teeth.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

Me, I found some fencing pliers about 100mm 'into' a crotch. One day I hope to strike it lucky and find myself something like this...
