Wouldn't a knee operated switch be much safer?
You wouldn't have to search around with your foot for the switch in an emergency.
I bought a magnetic switch (forgot the proper name) from CarbaTec

mounted it in the door of the router table and fitted a board that can always be found with my knee.

I used a length of melamine chipboard, just because I had a piece that fitted.

I ask at Bunnies a few months ago,and the guy showed me a crappy switch meant for a lounge room light.
Sorry missed this post Ross. I dont have a pic cos I didn't buy one but they looked to be a reasonably good switch.
    Reality is no background music.

I'm with malb on this one. I like having my switch on the tablesaw because then my hands are away from the blade when I turn it on, and I won't accidently step on it.

    "No tools or electrician required".
Tools will certainly be necessary unless it magically "plugs into" the devices you wish to connect to.

"Universal Application - works with most small appliances*"
The asterisk will provide details about "small appliances". What are these details?

A 5 amp switch that is designed to switch "resistive" loads will have a significantly shorter life than a 5 amp switch designed to switch "inductive" loads, if the load is inductive.
A motor is an inductive load.

As this switch was 1st given to me by an Electrical Engineer and fitted by him also onto my Nova 3000 who am I to argue with.

As for small print go look at the pack.
