Hi All, I have this table that I have started to restore. It is a great table with turned legs and stuff but needs some Love and care. I have it back to being raw . My plan is to rout out the width an inch or so from the center of the 2 side pieces, maybe at a depth of 1mm and inlay with paua (abalone shell)Veneer. I know this type of inlay can be exspensive but the look is great.
My question is, should I rout out deeper than the .3 of a mm that the veneer comes at and lacker over the top or can I rout at .3 of a mm.
