    Default tsc10hb - jet version????

    Hi all

I'm new on here and new to woodworking. Have been spending my time doing much research and reading before spending my hard earned.

I've been looking at table saws... in particular the TSC-10HB. Carbatec and Timbecon badge a generic product from Taiwan. Fair enough. However, while checking out the Gary Pye website I came across a version that is made to look suspiciously like a Jet product.... this struck me as a bit odd. They dont use the name Jet, but it is listed with other Jet products, has a white powder coat finish and the switch looks to have the brand Jet on it. See photo attached.... any thoughts on this????

looks like a 10Hb to me, maybe Jet are taking to a rebadge of the 10HB, which itself comes in many guises, given it's popularity in the idea that people looking at a 10HB might instead go for the Jet variant.

Its actually about $200 less than the carbatec and timbecon versions. with the reputation Jet has it thought it odd they would get into re-badging. unless they believe it to be a quality product.

It does say Jet above the on/off switch doesn't it?

I guess the reason I ask is because i'm trying to decide between a Jet 10" Proshop or the TSC10HB.

Both the Jet 'cabinet saw' and the TSC10HB are 'clones' of the Delta Unisaw. I'd guess that the person who did the web page for GPW has used the Jet photo instead of the TSC10HB one.

Thanks for that. Makes sense. Since I posted my original question, I have sent Gary Pye an email just to clarify what it is that they are selling. Hopefully they can clear it up.

I've made a similar enquiry and the answer was it is not a Jet, also I think the Carba-tec one has the router mounting wing and the GP one doesn't. FWIW it looks very good value and is Taiwanese made when I asked.

I think the Carbatec router wing needs to purchased as an extra. And from my reading it seems that the Carbatec router wing will fit any of the tsc10hb versions getting around.

By the way, I've read alot about Delta Unisaws... is there a supplier in Australia... can't seem to find one on the net.

    Default Jet and Delta

Delta has been bought out by Black and Decker, and no longer sells into Australia.

Right so the tsc10hb is the best option in Australia. If you want a delta do you have to get it shipped in?

Except that you can no longer get Delta parts in Australia. DeWalt bought Delta out and they're not continuing Delta in Australia. Tomnewby, the router wing is now standard on the 10HB.

    Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Got a reply from Gary Pye. Apparently yes it does say Jet on the switch, and it comes from the factory that also does work for Jet. However it is not a Jet and priced accordingly.

Waldo. The router wing as standard? Is that only on the Carbatec version, or on all tsc10hb?

If it's only carbatec it would explain the price difference. Maybe I'd buy the "jet" lookalike and just pretend I own one.

standard on the 10HB, on other clones I have no idea.

When my 10HB was delivered it came without the r/wing, so I phoned back and was sent out the r/wing - end result I was allowed to keep the incorrect wing and my table is one wing wider
