Using Blum Hinges in Flatpax Kitchen
Hello fellow woodworkers. I am doing a job for a customer and they are requesting soft closing hinges and runners for a flatpax kitchen I am installing. Will these product be compatible with a flatpax. Particularly the drawers having the right spacing between the carcass walls to fit a blum runner. Also can anyone recommend a joiner to manufacture poly doors with a sharks tooth edge in Sydney.
Cheers

G'day slewin and welcome to the workshop.
Provided the Particle board, or MDF for the doors is the standard thickness I see no problems with the Blumm hinges. Just make sure all your measurements for centres are spot on.
Cant' be of any help with the runners, although soft close ( there are several types) are a different set-up to the usual runners. You may have problems.
Sydney is a big place!!! Look for cabinet makers in your locality. Use Yellow Pages.

Mate try suppliers like lincoln sentry and furnware, most flat packs are drilled to suit most 32mm systems , If you do ask the people you got he flatpack off most of these guys should be able to provide you with plates, hinges runners etc ask about the blummotion range, $dear$ but probably what your afterHarn is another decent brand available from teckcel i think?

The answer is yes to all of your questions. Blumotion drawers are made to a custom size, you just need to cut the bottoms and backs to the correct size. The back is cut 87mm narrower than the inside cabinet measurement and the bottom is cut to 75mm less than the inside cabinet measurement. Lincoln Sentry has the Blum hinges that take the soft closing mechanism, their new catalog has the hinges and soft closers and yes they sell to the public. For cash customers at the Brisbane store, there is a $100 minimum purchase, it sounds like yo will reach that without any problem. Get the Inserta hinges, they are easy to fit.
