    Default Walking stick handle help

    Hello from a newbie!
    <o></o>
I was a furniture restorer with a fully equipped workshop until a few years ago but now I can barely make it to the mailbox.<o></o>
    <o></o>
I would like a couple of walking stick handle blanks to play with and then fit one or two of them onto a couple of sticks I have. <o></o>
    <o></o>
I contacted a number of timber shops/woodturners and woodworkers locally and interstate, asking if they'd cut four or five stick handles to my pattern, but they either thought it was below them or they just couldn't be bothered.<o></o>
    <o></o>
Is there anyone here with a bandsaw who could spend ten minutes cutting out some stick handles for me from a few different species of inch thick timber? Just name your price.<o></o>
    <o></o>
If it were possible, I'd like one from Rock Maple, one from American White Ash, one from New Guinea Rosewood, one from Huon Pine and one from American Walnut (nice heartwood preferred). Fussy, aren't I?
    <o></o>
I'd be very glad to hear from anyone who could help me with this and I'll email them the two patterns and pay up front.

I wish I could turn as I'd be happy to help. However, maybe others may give this another consideration.

    cheers

    Default Many thanks!

My sincerest thanks to ptc for helping me out with a couple of lovely blanks - one Huon (pictured above) and one walnut. The walnut is roughed out and will be finished in due course.

At least for now I'm mobile again with a limosine for a stick.
