Website Development
Anyone out there got any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, tips etc etc etc on website development.
I am contemplating developing a website to promote my buisness. But I don't want to spend megabucks on having a professional website developer create it. I have seen several different websites that allow you to design and build your own site with resonable results. no I don't mean the likes of Yahoo etc. More of the likes of skybiz.com .
Anyway, obviously with my line of work a website would not be a direct sales tool. Rather just an advertising medium, so there again I don't see the point of spending megabucks.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts. Even if you don't think its relavant.
Cheers!

Shane,
As in all things, "you get what you pay for"... I am a professional web application developer (not website developer). It depends how much you value the web as an advertising medium. Compare it to business cards - the cheap home-made ones do not give any confidence in a business. If someone stumbles across your site once, you would like them to say "wow, let's remember that one", not "give this a miss".
Cheers, Pieter
BTW professional websites do not cost all that much. Anyone can play with web development tools, it is the custom logos and graphics that make areally big difference!

Just had the same problem, he may have done some more work and changed the URL, I don't know. He sent me this to have a look at and asked my opinion. I can't get hold of him at the moment but I might try and contact him via my TLC a little later as he lives nearby.
