It's the wrong State of Australia to be pushing the rugby rivalry, Jock. I'm interested in sports, but have lived in Victoria all my life and have never been to a rugby game. The game on Saturday drew a crowd of only 51,000, while the Australian Rules match in the afternoon between two suburban sides drew 80,000. Rugby (and League) will only ever be niche sports in the four southern states of Australia. There are NO players from those states in the Wallabies, so effectively NZ is playing NSW and Queensland. NZ would certainly do a lot better at cricket if the same situation applied.

We get the best of both worlds in Victoria Jock. They're from NSW if they lose, from Australia if they win
