Wooden Boat Adventures
I know most of the people who look here keep a very good eye on what is happening on the forum in general. But some of the newcomers may not realise that there is a general subforum for Wooden Boat Plans, Building and Restoration.
The main link is here

However at the moment there is a big event I am reporting on using a variety of sources.
The Texas200
There are about 25 mostly small, simple, cheap and WOODEN boats down to 2.4m long sailing 200 miles along the Coast of Texas over a 5 day period.
You can see the story here ...

So far there have been bursts of winds up to 55 knots, tangles with sandbars, but happily no tangles with 'Gators or stingrays that enjoy the area too. Boats are being quite self sufficient along the mostly deserted (and desert) coast (ranchland) carrying food water and spares.
Using small boats means a bigger adventure!!! And makes the 40 miles a day a very big achievement!
Best wishes
