They are often two way.... This week I have been serching all over for an 18" section of 1/2" pipe I found a while back for a future project. I searched high and low, cleaned off my bench (fantastic task) and ran across it. set it somewhere whilst I finished cleaning off the flat surface clutter collector. Then Monday I set out to complete that small project, (making a grab bar for raising tired knees from the throne on our fishing houseboat) where did I put it? Again high low search, down on the floor looking under every tool and bench, nothing, Again Tuesday "It has to be her somewhere" Nothing! Wednesday. Digging through storage nooks and shelves. "I know it is here" Wednesday night the phone got a serious Bussssss and the first thing said to do was disconnect each phone and see if it goes away. All disconnected when SHMBO said "Did you unplg the shop hone?" Went to do the deed and there in plain sight laying on the bench beside the phone, was my section of pipe I had been searching after. Now, if I can find the fittings I bought to go on the section of pipe.

BTW the phone problem was because the "Before you Dig" guys who were locating underground lines so the water department can dig up a leak across the street, disconnected the ground wire so they could send their signal... and didn't re attach it.

Dumb dorks located the wires on the wrong side of the street painted lines on my lawn and skipped the one with the leak.

Someone mentioned earlier that wormholes "transmogrify" pens into wire coathangers thereby accounting for the disappearance of one and the appearance of the other. I think they can change the colour of objects too. I looked everywhere for my pop rivetter with the blue handles with no luck. I (quite logically) assumed it had gone down a wormhole. The next day I found it lying in plain view on the bench, but it now had RED handles. Unless of course the handles were always red.
NAW! It had to be those damned wormholes again!
