Netbooks
What are some folks takes on netbooks with the small keyboard and being able to type comfortably with large hands as in mans?
Looking at one for travelling WiFi and roaming!
Has anyone had experience with these?
Any feedback appreciated.

We purchases a Usus eee pc in Scotland last year for travel ..... saved us more than we spent on it. Lunix operating system, open office suite and no dvd drive but it worked a treat.
After a few weeks it was a breaze to use ..... the keyboard was small but easy enough to adjust to (I have short fat fingers). It was difficult to get to grips again with a full size keyboard after a few months.
Not a super fast machine but perfect for WIFI, skype and limited storage while away. With the Lunix system it was not possible however to hook up the Ipod as storage.
Being able to log onto free Wifi to book accommodation and events over the 6 months of travels was great. The size was perfect as it was small and light. Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

I'm currently on the bus, on the way to work, using my Dell Mini-9. I get more work done in the hour trip each way to & from work than most other times of the week, and it fits inside my briefcase, which you never do with a laptop.
I got the Dell after much studying Netbooks, as it was reported to have the most usable keyboard. I'm running Windows XP and use it mostly for browsing, but I have Open Office loaded, a heap of portable apps, can watch movies on it, and have even run photoshop successfully on it Having said that, rendering times can be a little slow.
But it's just so convenient to use anywhere and everywhere, that I hardly even use my Laptop anymore. The only real drawback is the lack of a DVD drtive. If yuou're desperate, just get a large USB stick and copy your files over.
Well worth the money.

Thanks for all the responses ,got a Toshiba NB100 chucked some more ram in it thought it would be Ok for the overseas jaunt planned, but that was before the wife had an accident, and we had to Cancel travel plans...it will give so more time no doubt to have a play with it.
Manage OK with using the keyboard which was initially a concern
I like the size, weight, and it should be OK for travelling with. Have some reservations about the battery with a charge of 2 1/2 hrs before needing a recharge.
