I agree.
Neil has said there will be no fees so why continue on that line. It is a fruitless destination.
Give Ubeaut all the support you can by purchasing his products. - That way he will be happy, cant refuse your money.
If you want to contribute to the forum become a prise draw donor mr unmanimousey is always an option.
Respect the dictators wishes.

I don't expect any of this discussion to change Neil's mind
.
FWIW though, I'm with Echnidna, Gunnaduit and Neil. This is a 'free' service to the members and anyone can join in, that is why the place is successful. If people pay an 'entry fee' they may develop expectations; I can see Neil not wanting pressure from all directions.
At present we participate as equals and always get value for our money, I'd rather not see that change if it can be avoided.

Like most members I joined the free service and was introduced to arguably some of the best products in the wood working world, which I purchase in preference to other finishing products that are run by big multi nationals.
PS I am a Sawmill Creek contributor, so I have no problems with contributing financially, but it is Neils decision to remain Free, so I will continue to support Ubeaut by purchasing their products.Pat

Although I've been around on here for a while and in that time appreciate what the forums have offered thru generous input by PREDOMINATELY NEIL and his Moderators, I do go with the thought that keep the forum flowing easily so that more people also become aware of what Neil offers with his forum by keeping access free.
This in keeping with the good product he produces will also create an awareness of his product which in turn should rightfully so aid in keeping the forum afloat,no mean feat in itself considering the membership and the product turnover that it could benefit from.
I would willingly contribute more if per chance it could benefit the forum monetarily or by any means at my disposal ,however I defer to fair reason that to maintain volume of membership and therefore easy access to all it offers of the forum Ads and all ...then so be it!

I had the joy of sharing my woodwork with a tradesman at my workplace today. I also had the joy of sharing the address for The Woodwork Forums with him, he's going to share it with his Dad....... etc etc etc

Neil
After reading your email my first thought was that maybe you should have a donation link on the opening page? If you have already then I am blind.
This way there is no fee to be a member but we could help you maintain the best woodworking site on the net.
If I had to pay for the information and entertainment that I get from the WWF I'd be broke.
Just a thought

The way I see it, there are two ways to help Neil.
Buy his products and recommend them to others.
