The problem doesn't have anything to do with Google, or updating adds, or anything to do with the Google ads or any other ads that might be on here. Nor does the problem anything to do with members. The problem is mostly to do with guests, who have for the past few years largely paid for this site indirectly through those ads.
Here it is in a nutshell: If you scroll slightly down the page to just above the tabs there are no ads to be seen. Many will do this to maximise page view. This is the problem as there are no ads in sight and no see no use. As a rule a guest is here for a very short time and in that time will click on all sorts of things and if they see an ad or ads that interest, they'll more than likely click on that too. However if the ads aren't in your face and obvious then they won't be seen or used and this folks is the problem.
This is why I am bringing the big page back on as the default for guests and if any members wish to use the big page instead of the tabbed forums they are more than welcome to do so. As per the email if you wish to change back to the tabbed pages just change the skin (bottom left of all screens) there will be a few to choose from.
Hope this clears it up a little more.
Cheers - Neil

Even though they use the same software (VBulletin), Sawmill Creek has a different organisational structure. Vehemently non-commercial last time I checked, so contributions are needed to support their effort. Contributing provides access to forums not available to ordinary members, as well as other status enhancements. Ordinary membership is required for access to posted pics, similar to the current environment here. Wherever we buy Ubeaut products, some of the loot filters back. And I have no complaint about Google ads - more the merrier.
You jumped in before I could post, Neil. I'll digest it later.
