I recorded the show and watched this morning. Makes me think of the Z-vise that they sell at the Ww shows. Have you ever seen the face of someone who walks away with one of the z-vises tucked under their arm? It is the look on the face of just been suckered into buying a gimmick. I know  I have been there a few years back.
Anyone want to buy a z-vise going cheap? Never used. Brand spanking new. Yours for just ... - well make me an offer
This workbench made me think of the z-vise. Maybe it's just me.

Of course there is always the two headed cordless drill..... should fit right in with the Z vice, the rope thing, the metal nibbler, the super chamois, square drive screws, the whipper snipper atachment thing etc. etc.

Yeah I like them too, particularly if you want/have to take them out & put them back often, the heads don't wear out.
I also find that I can hold a screw on the end of the bit at almost any angle & it doesn't fall off at the slightest bump.

    the metal nibbler
I bought one of them. It's actually a good tool. I used it to cut the openings in my shed for windows and doors. Makes a bit of a mess but does the job well. Used to have a proper nibbler when we were in the sheetmetal business but this one is good enough for odd jobs. Beats using tinsnips to cut holes in profiled sheet.

They are extremely popular in Canada, or so a certain canuck told me.

It'd be one thing to walk away feeling duped with a gimmicky device for a hundred or so dollars, but lash out $6000 or more!

Srewing and bumping at an angle eh .. Cliff.
Seriously, the Robertson square drive is the only screws worth buying, besides the Kreg pocket hole screws which also happen to be square drive.

Robertson makes pocket hole screws now too. I bought some from Sachys Robertson.

    Silent,
that is correct. However they do not make the fine thread PH screws that is required for hard woods. Their PH screw threads seem to be somewhere between the fine and coarse threads of the Kreg screws.

Is it the genuine Zyliss or the cheap knock-off?

Absolutely nothing wrong with the metal nibbler either - I've used one on Dad's farm to make a new base for one of his watertanks. It was either 10 minutes with the nibbler, or an hour or more with tin snips (and subsequent pain after!)

Unfortunately how some things are marketed make them look like gimmicks, and other times makes gimmicks look like the genuine article.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with the Star Mops either.

I bought a Zyliss and I love it. Specially for holding my chainsaw when i need to sharpen it. When I need to hold something at a weird angle it really comes into its own. I have limited rotation in my neck due to a crushed vertebrae and the Zyliss lets me set up so I don't have to strain my neck. Is good... Didn't feel duped at all.
