    Default Victorian timber workers memorial

    Hi everyone. I drove past this in Heyfield today and thought it was fantastic so I thought I would share, I'm sure there are a few people here who will appreciate this also, as yet in the making, when finished I will get some more pics.

    If this is a Timber Workers Memorial...why are those Plinths completely constructed in stone ?

    The memorial has to sit on something and besides wood and stone are natural and beautiful partners. Also, stone will protect whatever timber goes on top from rotting, right?
