Beaut shots Bob
Think that squirrel has Aussie relations they are just much bigger and don't climb tree's or eat nuts.
The photo of the canoe speaks volumes an amazing shot, one of solitude on peaceful waters.

Thanks Hitch, yeah this year is a real get around sort of year. I even cancelled my trip to Asia in October - otherwise I would get no woodworking done this year.
I'm just using the merge tool in photoshop - there are better programs out there but it's fast and easy to use.
Thanks Wheelin. I took over 400 photos of the lake and surrounds over two days and about 60 photos of the scenery that incorporated the canoe. (Plus about 60 photos of Moraine Lake and about 550 of the Columbia Icefields and the Icefield Highway (Highway 93) one of the worlds most amazing roads.
Lake Louise is a photographers heaven. Generally the best conditions are the early morning about 6 am when it was relatively clear and still and the reflections were reasonably steady. By around 7:30 am there were were hundreds of people an hour photographing the lake building to thousands per hour in the afternoon. Not many seemed to be worrying about the canoe.
Here are a few more of the better canoe shots - and I have heaps more.
The one with the canoe glowing orange is where the sunlight was peeking up over the mountains at the side of the lake - you can just see the touching the tips of teh trees - for a few minutes the canoe glowed a fiery orange contrasting against the cold blue water and green trees. I'm far from convinced I have the levels right on this shot - st

RE: Blog
I'm flat out handling photos, making panoramas, processing and emailing photos etc to start a blog.
Got to go and back up the photos.

We basically walked from the east side of the lake to the middle of this map.

Nice hike all that fresh air no wonder you passed out.
I recall when going down the snow often telling the party goers if they were drinking after the day then heading back to the motel watch the cold snap. We'd walk out as a group and often see someone hitting the pavement.

A few more panoramas I put together this evening.
Not really the best for consistency of exposure and some are a bit wonky but I was probably balancing on a rock trying to take the photos and its quite easy to tilt the camera. I did have a monopod with me but I didn't always use it.

Cheers fellas.
I'm just using the photomerge function in Photoshop to make these panoramas. I used to use the Quicktime VR package from Apple and make Quicktime VR panoramas, but about 4 years ago this product was no longer supported by the Apple OS and so I now just use photoshop. I started making panoramas back in 1974 when I got my first SLR. I used to do them by sticky taping photos together and have old scrap books full of these things. Sometime I should scan some of these print versions into my computer and stitch them together.

Stitching photos is a great function to have, but don't you hate it when people and cars get in the way.
Bob in the Banff photo of the street scene you have a car going through the intersection with no front end pulling a trailer with no rear end
