I call them LBJ's - Little Brown Jobs. Any little bird that has no interest in sitting still while I get a decent shot of it is given that monicker. Very frustrating, you just need bucket loads of patience and a fair bit of luck when chasing these feathered friends. Very impressed with your lense, it seems to be sharper than my Sigma 50-500, which is starting to show it's age.
Happy shooting,
Alan...

I went up to the area were the Bay Of Fires starts just to have a look around.
The weather today has been less than stellar for photography to say the least.
Overcast rain and very little contrast in the light.
Still I had a go with what nature had given me to work with on the day.
What an incredible place and that's just the start of it.
The Bay Of Fires runs for 35 kilometres up to Eddystone Point.
And the locals tell me it just gets better as you go!.
So if that's it at it's least attractive I can hardly wait for some good weather.
Cheers

The low light has actually worked for you in that there is a lot of definition in the shadows due to less intensity of light. Really great photos. I am guessing, the rusty colour is iron deposits in the boulders? Makes for a great shot all the same
Just do it!
Kind regards Rod

I have to agree with Rod, your camera skills are up there with the best, and what a stunning part of the world to live in.

I went and had a look at one of the smaller waterfall's in the area.
It's called Hall's Falls and it's about 30 kilometres from home.
The falls are really nice but I was a little disappointed by the amount of debris caught at their base.
So I had to work around it to get some shots.
The sub-tropical rainforest in the area is something else!.
Then I ran into this fellow on the way back to the car park.
It was a very nice way to spend to couple of hours!.

A White Bellied Sea Eagle was flying out over the lagoon late yesterday.
I'd imagine looking for a snack.
He was a little out of range for a good shot but still you have to have a go!
Speaking of having a go, also punching above your weight and not to mention having some really big stones!
A Raven turned up who for some reason had decided that the Eagle could shove off.
They maybe back for round two today with a little luck.
I'm backing the Raven!.
Cheers

It's lichen Rod, but I don't know what species. Spectacular stuff though!
Trev, there's some really great pics in there. Good work! Yes, keep going north, and look out for a thunderstorm in the late afternoon - the light that can follow will make that lichen BURN! You'll be tripping over yourself trying to take all the pic possibilities.....there's only a few minutes of that kind of light usually.
