Jumped on ferry at Wallaroo at 9am and over to Lucky Bay. Then straight to Port Lincoin only stopping at Tumby Bay for lunch. I've booked on for shark cage dive on Sat and probably do a bit of fishing off the pier tomorrow – there is one where I am staying (PT Lincoin Caravan Park).

Took a few shots of ferry and harbours on the way, then some photos of birds here at the caravan park jetty thingy, just phone photos again

Typical of kids now days, wanting something for nothing
Enjoy your time there Neil, it sure is a lovely place. As you travel further up the coast heading west are several good fishing spots.

Nah, just not in the first lap. I do the loop returning to GC Dec14 for 2 weeks, then head for Tassy, finally back via Wagga Turnabout end April (?).

Still not cheap but saves me fuel and time going around the Spencer Gulf.
Just wait till you go on the Spirit of Tasmania, my Visa card got hit for $1597 (return) for our 11.9mtr rig.

Yeh I got a quote at $2K with the trailer, they wanted to hit me for over height and over length. Will seriously look into options, including flying (with excess luggage on return ), and hiring a camper

Well the trip went pretty well. Very rough sea meant it tested the majority of passengers, even those with good sea legs, for sea sickness. After 30 years with no issues I gave in relatively early, but once it came up, I settled down for the rest of the day without issue. Unfortunately a number of others didn't and spent most of the day under the seats.

We left at 7am and got there at 11am after stopping briefly at seal colony and for some dolphins. Long day in and out of the cage, so did most of the others, but all to no avail. We did see one shark beside the boat, but was gone quickly, too quickly for my camera. Only got shots of small fish hanging around the boat eating scraps thrown over from morning tea/lunch and a selfy .

My boat was the one trying to attract the sharks with music in lieu of blood etc as blood/burley is to be banned soon . It only has 20 customers and we can enter the cage when ever we can (taking turns) over the 6 hours we were there. The other boat (that was booked out) was only there for 4 hours but used burley and apparently got 3 sharks circling. It has 40 guests and a limit of a once only 45min per customer dive in cage, and if too sick for your turn, you miss out. Plus and minus for both boats. I still had a great day with the crew giving us a discount for not seeing any sharks from the cage.

    Hey Neil,

Sounds like you are getting all the good spots in, on the trip. What plans do you have once you get into WA, you heading round the bottom and up to Perth or coming straight across ?????

Thought I'd take a photo before leaving tomorrow of the view from my camp site. Typical, today the seas are like a mill pond, although wind is just starting to pick up.
