    Default sharpening jig

I find it diffcult to post photos. The 'jig' is simply a piece off 3 x 2 pine that I filed off part of the edge of the timber a little longer than the length of the blade at a 45 degree angle. I simply screw the blade to the timber and put the other end in the bench vice to hold it steady while I hone the edge of the blade. I then remove it and polish the back of the blade. It works for me.

I mounted a steel plate on my bench grinder with a slit cut to take the wheel. It is set at about 45 deg to the wheel and I clamp a bit of steel to this plate to control the amount taken off. The plate piviots with a thread underneath to adjust it.
I made it to sharpen my chipper blades but do the thicknesser on it as well. I use a white stone as the chipper blades I make are spring steel and they get to hard to grind on a normal stone as they get too hot.
