Ern - 15,000 grit??? That's sharp enough to shave the hairs growing on your hairs.....
How did you go with your various ceramic stones ?? I'm still undecided whether there is any real world benefit in going beyond 8000 grit, but am seriously considering replacing my 8000 Norton waterstone with an equivalent Shapton or other (Jap)ceramic stone.
I have a sinking feeling that meticulous (and frequent) flattening of the surface of an 8000 ceramic stone will have more impact than adding a 12000 grit stone to the process after the 8000...

Quite possibly.
And what's wrong with shaving the fuzz off the fuzz?? LOL. Good pub boast: 'My bleeding chisels are 3X as sharp as the rubbish you use to scrape your face fungus off maaaate!!'.
....
So far I only have a couple of Shapton Glass stones, 15 & 4 micron (JIS 1000 and 4000). The 4 micron will shave off hairs with a bit of wiggling. So on the basis of TS's review, I'm waiting for a Sigma 8000. Click.Cheers, Ern
