Sheppach 2500 wet grinder issues
I purchased a Sheppach 2500 about a year ago, but only now (since I've retired) have started to use it to any extent. The vibration noise it makes is driving me nuts!I have made a skid to go under the spring that is supposed to act as a damper -no better.
The other issue is that twice now (out of 4 sessions) when the wheel has dried after use it has become out of round by about 2mm.which takes a lot of truing before use again.
Any ideas please?
Thanks,Emmo

Not good news Emmo.
That unit is now made in China.
I had a German-made version and had no complaints. It did make more noise than a Tormek but that was just an irritation.
As for the wheel, you could try buying a replacement and see how that goes, or do an internet search for aftermarket wheels to suit a Tormek. IIRC, the bore is the same (but do check!).
In your shoes I'd chk that the wheel is properly mounted and tightened (use a spanner and soft-blow hammer; don't hold the wheel); then I'd get onto the supplier and do the outraged consumer thing (your warranty is not exhausted just by the passage of time).
Hope this helps.Cheers, Ern

Hi Emmo, certainly not good news I bought one of the Tiger 2500 machines and it made a lot of noise and had vibration problems, took it back and H&F swapped it for another one (after testing by me in the showroom).
No problems with it since.
I didn't really investigate why there was a problem, just returned it and swapped it for a good one.
