can 18v battery be used on makita 6339DWAE cordless drill
gday guys,
as the title states. is it possible to SAFELY use the 18v red battery on a 14.4v makita 6339DWAE cordless drill? im just trying to suss this out as both the 6339DWAE and the 6349DWAEappear to be the same with just different voltage. i could be wrong. so im seeing whether anyone has done it and not stuffed the drills internals. theres no info on the makita web site so thought id try my luck here.
cheers,
stefan

I have been doing this for months Stefan. Rather than buy new equipment, I found that 14.5V batteries fitted (almost) into the original battery socket of my old drill. I have two of these batteries, as well as the original 12V battery. I had done lots of work over the winter months, happily never running out of fully charged batteries. The rather cheap drill has never complained and is still ready to go to work. I tape them in place with some electrical tape.
