Bosch Screw driver
Has any one tried the Bosch cordless screwdriver, it's the one that is around many hardware stores at the moment for around $69 and fits into your palm, It looks pretty good and i'm wondering weather to add it to my xmas list.
Cheers

Hi Dave,
Yep, I bought one as it has a Lithium battery that can be charged all the time without the memory effect of Ni cads, and my old makita 7.2v unit runs out of charge when I don't expect it to. It has an amazing amount of torque for its size and handles the 30mm screws that I tend to mostly use. For bigger screws up to 100mm I have an old B&D drywall 240 volt unit that can screw the shank off a #12, or break your wrist trying.

I have one too, they are good for little fiddly bits, and also like the idea of the Lithium battery. The battery will probably outlast the Drill!

I've sold a massive amount of the Bosch screwdrivers through my toolshop with no problems of complaints
You should also check out the new Bosch cordless dremel which also has the same lithium ion batteries as the ixo screwdriver
cheers

I'm another very satisfied Bosch IXO owner. It's range is a bit limited as it has no torque control so you can't use it on delicate work but it surprising powerful for its size so it's only the major stuff that needs the power drill. As you leave it in the cradle all of the time, it is almost always charged. It easily fits in the pocket which means you can just drill with your cordless drill and not have to keep switching the ends to put the driver bit on.
Excellent xmas present. They laughed when I said I was going to be a comedian. They're not laughing now.

Can someone post a picture of this cordless screwdriver or its full BOSCH model name and number? There are so many models of BOSCH drivers / drills that I get confused.
Thanks in advance

Guys,
thanks for the images and links. Looks to be the kind of thing I can buy my wife for Christmas as it's small and cute (and useful for me as well)
Cheers

Bosch IXO screwdriver problems
Hi is anyone else having problems with the trigger switch??
I had this problem and had some trouble with the retailer getting it fixed and had to call Bosch direct who sorted it for me.
Seems there is a switch problem and the driver appears to die.
Just wondering if others have had the problem ... if so don't bin it because it can be fixed..... apparently.

IXO Dead again
I originally bought this Bosch IXO cordless driver from Alltools in Bayswater WA, to use fiddling with computers as a hobby, however it has given me some problems ( I appreciate it is NOT a profesional tool) first it had a trigger problem and I returned it to the retailer who said it would take 2 weeks to fix under warranty which I thought is pretty poor so I contacted Bosch who told me that Alltools was not an authorised repairer, told me to call Alltools and ask them to call Bosch, 1 hour later I was called by Alltools to say driver was repaired, picked it up and it was OK.
However probably less than 20 screws later it failed, again under warranty, seemed to be same problem, this time I took it to the authorised repairer Bosch had recommended and was told they are a throw away and parts can't be obtained and that another driver would have to be sent from "Over east" in about a week, so I'm currently putting my new computer together with my trusty old Phillips screw driver.
I know I only paid $AU69 and know all about "Only getting what you pay for" but I hope this time it gets resolved properly.
Will keep you posted.
