I gotta say first up that there is no doubt a good deal of knowledge and experience out there!

It's true, the stack of 45mm redgum planks (out to 200mm) have been sitting there for some time. I think 5 or more years in fact, so the time is near.

I've never cut mortises by hand - maybe one exception - so I'm looking for some value in balancing out the next project. That way, I figure I've saved $$$ by buying a tool I can use again and again.

If I can find some 125+mm for the legs, I can start. But the beast will be heavy and I'm still worried about the strength of the dominos to be honest. And with my eyesight as it is, fine machinery or a router jig seems the way to go.

Option B would be to let you guys use my fairly well equipped workshop for a day or say and chop the damn mortises while your here! I've got a Vicmarc VL300 just sitting here and unused due to lack of skill with the skew chisel!

    Thanks again for the responses.

You guys have got me out in the shed the last two days. Ripped a stack of Vic ash and finally edge banded a few of my becnhes. Even had the wife helping with the job, ripping to 10mm and planing down to 8mm. Nail gun and glue out and away we went.

Got the 35x70 F17 ash benchtops done as well.... Gee, a belt sander would have been handy. I better stop now before someone here catches me.

Thanks again and I will look up those router jigs as a priority.

Sure its a lot of money but it makes everything so much mor fun and more importantly gives you more time in the workshop to make more stuff.
Jeez. You really love that thing don't ya. Take it to bed with you and tuck it in ?

    well, I'll just rob a bank tomorrow.....and no worry's.

Mine sleeps in the bed, and I sleep on the floor at the end.

What's that, Triton are making their own Domino. You'll just need to add on your own motor somehow.

I wish, It would be 25% of the price, noisy as hell but would do me for what I need it for.
