i can hear the groans - GMC compressor
at the risk of getting flamed, can any of the current users of the $98.00 gmc compressor let me know how they are performing after a period of time. my birthdays up next week and a few bunnings vouchers are headed my way.so its a toss up between the compressor or the 1200w router.
thanks again

I bought a $90 compressor, I think it is the Warrior brand, works ok.
I had a$200 one before that and it craped its self, so I think I will stick to the cheaper ones from now on.

I've got two, (I bought one extra one because my old compressor broke down-the GMC I'd bought the week before was at home and it was cheaper to buy a 2nd than a): drive home, losing 1.5hrs, or b): hire one for the day).
No problems at all, had them for about 6 months. Don't do much site work now, but when I do I run it all day long. Unless you spend $450 or more you're not going to get appreciably better quality IMHO.

My cheapo GMC is running fine after about 6 months. It doesn't get that much use but so far, it's fine.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

thanks for the replys. I have a petrol driven 15cfm unit at the moment thats on loan from the Outlaws [ive had it now for 5 years] but its not real neighbour friendly and is a pain when you only have a quick job to do.
not to mention takes up a bit of space in the garage. the missus is keen to give it back to her old man and for us to get an electric one. she saw the one at bunnings and thought it was a good deal. i have a gravity feed spray gun that runs fine on low pressure and a c type nail gun, so the small unit should be fine.

I bought mine over one year ago. It's been used as a high pressure air blower, and to supply air for a rattle gun, a coil nailer and a framing nailer. It's helped build a 40 foot pailing fence and a big deck. It's still going strong, though I think I'd recommend the 40l unit over the 24l one I bought, simply because the higher capacity tank gives the unit an easier time.

I've had mine for a year now and give it a fair bit of work. Wouldn't be without it. Cheap: Yep. Nasty: partly. Do the same again: You bet.

thanks again to you all, i bought the $98.00 one on the weekend along with a kit that has the coily hose and nitto fittings and a tyre inflator.
awsome little unit. i used it on sunday arvo to do the tyres on the SWMBO's vehicle.
the noise is much less than the petrol compressor on loan and it fills pretty quickly.
bonus is i got eough vouchers to get the router too.
got to love birthdays.
