Lowest Price Guarantee?!
I am planning to buy a Triton Router and router table, I found out the price of the router from 'Justtools' in Melbourne for $385, while Bunnings is selling it for more than $400.
see website:
http://www.justtools.com.au/prod1946.htm
Do you know if I can print out that online catalogue of justtools and go to Bunnings and ask for the 10% off??

That's cheap ! I've been watching the router prices for months and finally gave up 5 weeks ago and bought it from Bunnies for about $450 !! Just my luck.
Anyway, get down there quick and just tell them. Take the phone number with you and tell them to check it for themselves if they are in doubt. You should get it around $350 and thats a bargain! They are a terrific tool.

The other day I saw a Triton circ saw at Bunnings for $319 and later that arvo I dropped into another Bunnings about 20 mins drive away, where they had the same circ saw for $350.
I did not have the funds on me, but it would have been fun to try and get the discount. So it pays to shop around.

The deabte has been had before, but how about dragging yourself down to Just tools and handing over some cash and know that you’re going to get;
1. customer service that doesn’t feel like you’re shopping at mcdonalds
2. any advice you need on setup, use, etc.
3. after sale service, advice, etc
You'll also see what a real tool shop looks like - be sure to make sure the visa is charged and take a tissue to wipe up the drool.

Bunnies in Midland (Perth) had the Triton router for $395 the other day. Agree re service quality, it is just a super market really.
I find it amazing how the average age and experiance of employees at all the local stores has reduced and how they seem to congregate in groups which disperse as soon as you even look like you might be about to ask a question.

I thought this was a great savings but assumed it was OK because my local Bunnings normally price everything to the (high) recommended retail price and they are occassionally faced with competitors runnings some very generous sales. I didn't realise until I went back recently that there were actually a 100Kg and 150Kg model with substantially different prices.
I'm racked with guilt - should I go back and give Bunnings their $50+ dollars???This time, we didn't forget the gravy.

I did it!! I went to the Bunnings @ Nunawading (Vic) and told one of the senior staff about the cheaper price I found on the net, he phone 'Justtools' and confirmed about the price. He gave me 10%off the 'Justtools' price.
I paid $346.50 for the Router
I am going to do the same on the rest of the Triton products

Why do I ALWAYS get the wrong end of the stick ????
Is it Karma? Feng Sh...whatever, $%#@^^%*^$^$*(*)&$
I'm happy for you though
There's a cheap looking WC2000 and Saw on ebay too, maybe that's worth a look.

I have used Just Tools prices to get Bunnings 10% discount on a SCMS but I didn't feel entirely comfortable with it. The sales droid and his manager argued that JT was an online store so I countered that they were in South Melbourne. I could just drive there and pick it up.
If you can afford it, give Just Tools your custom. I bought some Dewalt tools from them last Friday and their service is excellent.

Dylan, I agree with you. I am lucky as the staff didn't think too much about giving me a cheaper price.
I wanted to go for Just tools, but I realized they don't accept American Express, thus, I went to Bunnings.
I think Bunnings is a typical case of large cross-country (even international) business take over small-medium size local business. It is really hard for small costomer like me to decide which side I should go for.

I was in Bunnings today with my son who was buying some stuff and noticed that the Triton router was $395. Drool, drool etc
Seems they, like computers, are getting cheaper.
In about 200 years I'll be able to afford one.
Ndru you should be proud of yourself. You the man.
cheers

Of course it is........they'd rather sell them for that than have to take off another 10% !
But, guys, please stop...no more telling how much they are.......if feel bad enough as it is !!!!!!!! Have mercy...........
Sad and $100 poorer Gumby

If we keep giving our custom to Bunnings (even though most other places have the items cheaper) for the sake of a few extra dollars, eventually those other places will not exist.
So there will be nothing to compare price with and we'll have to pay the Bunnings price - regardless.
Gordon.

That is exactly right Gordon and that is concern of mine that this tactic will destroy the competition.
Bunnings are even cheeky enough to introduce temporary price reductions to limit the 10% reduction on price matching. I find this ironic that a company has a policy to capture competition dollars then has an alternative policy to limit the damage of the said policy. Sounds like the politicians from Yes Minister have infiltrated the board of Westfarmers.Cheers,
Rod
