Makita ROS markings
On the base of the Makita Random Orbital Sander model BO6030 there is embossed on the metal casting "No load" and "Load", with a two headed arrow between them.
Can anyone please tell me what this is supposed to mean? There is no reference to this in the user manual
regards,
Jillregards,
Dengy

Hi Jill, unknown to me but I do have a makita random orbital sander and find if it is held up "running free" it will spin in one direction and if placed on a surface under light load it will spin in a random direction but mainly in the opposite direction, perhaps this is what is meant by the inscription

G'day Jill, I have the Makita ROS model # B0521 which has the same but different. Embossed on my metal casing is "On Load" and "Off Load" - there is a normal arrow head pointing to the "On Load" but only the top half of the arrow head pointing to the "Off Load"- up above this on the casing is also embossed >pc< - this also appears on the opposite side of the metal casing.
I also noticed, as Dave50 says that mine operates as he says. Mine is a few years old now but I did check with the store where I purchased it about the "Load" markings as I could not find any reference to it in the manual. The store referred it to the Makita rep when he came around but he was not able to help either.
Does not answer your question but it does not seem to affect the machine's function.
Regards,
Bob
