Porter Cable Router woes
Greetings from the Great White North.
First time posting but I have been following for quite a while.
I have a problem with my router which I use in my router table. It is the model 7518 (3-1/4 HP five speed) router. I just got it back after a several year loan to a relative. During that time it made a lot of moldings and paneling. The problem is, fine dust has accumulated in the channel in the housing in which the height adjustment pins run, effectively preventing it from changing depth or even removing the motor from the housing.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Any suggestions on how to remove the packed dust? I have tried blowing it out with compressed air to no avail.
Thanks in advance
Scotty

Any chance it has frozen in?
We have some porter cable users here but it might pay to repost at the router section at this forum.woody U.K.

Send a pic. Anything that's stuck can usually be unstuck. If it won't move and it looks like dust, I'm guessing it's more a case of sap/resin. Get stuck into it with a small paint brush and an appropriate cleaning agent.
Good luck!

Thanks for the replies gents: no, it is not frozen, it simply appears to have dust caked in the slot intended for the pins to ride in. I can turn it just so far. I guess it is simply a matter of blowing and twisting and digging it out with a thin wire.
Thanks again
