Illuminating. I bought an Ozi back in Feb and its had a real flogging, clinker bricks, clay bricks, conrete blocks reinforced slab and the hardest concrete slab I've ever come across. Hasn't missed a beat as a masonry drill or as a demolition hammer/chisel.

Now I know what the little pot of grease is for I'll use it. I have the metal body model. I hope I haven't buggared it.. Best 67 buckes I ever spent.

I got one by accident last week. Digging fence posts and was having trouble breaking through some blue stone fill at the back of a retaining wall with the bar. I said to my offsider, I really think I need one of those Ozito jackhammers from Bunnies (those big one that stand hip-high). She reckoned that thay are fantastic, she had been using one on the house they're building just last week. So I sent her off to buy one thinking it was the big one. She returns an hour later with a little black box under her arm. ????. She had been talking about the one you guys are raving about. But you KNOW I have a rotary hammer I says to her flabergasted. Yeah, I thought so. Bugger me, for the price I thought I'd give it a go. Man that thing packs so much more punch than my Metabo rotary hammer. It's unbelievable, and about 1/7th of the price. The Metabo's still got its place for drilling concrete because it has an excellent anti-twist injury clutch, but for hammering, I'll be using the Ozito!

    Cheers

Well the little ones don't have enough reach if you need to go down 600mm and I don't have a big one yet, but soon will because I have to drop a couple of holes into schist soon. Will let you know!

Me too And mine was the plastic bodied jobbie! On the other hand it did then drill about 70 15cm deep holes in concrete/stone with no fuss

My useless manual instructs one to take it the ozito centre for greease change after 50 hours of use.

Righto, please note that I do not like Ozito as I reckon they're rubbish. However, this morning I, errr, ahh, rather a friend of mine, yes, a friend of mine, had to remove some tiles in my hallway. Ahh, I mean *his* hallway. *He* bought one of the Ozito $69 plastic jobbies and went at it for about 4 hours knocking all the tiles up. He really wanted the $699 Metabo concrete killer but after buying the reciprocating saw my wife said no. (Doh!)

Anyway, for one tenth of the price the same job got done and it didn't self destruct.

    Where *does* that grease go?

The grease is for the shanks of the bits, just smear a light coat on them and squeeze a tiny dollop in the chuck and push it in with a bit. You don't need much, just enough to keep it wet

The bloke Im working for has one and he used it to drill some 14mm holes in the slab so we could poxy in some starter bars.
The bit got stuck in the bottom of the hole and no amount of leverage or swearing could get it out, we tried for over 10 minutes and he held the trigger nearly all that time.

The Ozito in the end was smoking a bit, but it just kept on chugging along.
    Seems ya cant kill them!!

Only two sizes? Mine is a 900w unit and cost $69. That makes an 850w, 900w, 1100w - any more for any more?
