Smokey Brush Cutter?
Hi all,
Just have a fairly simple question.
I recently managed to get my 15 year old brush cutter (ECHO SRM-250E) to work, it was out of action for at least 5 years. She seems to be up in action, cutting away nicely however she seems a little smokey? ECHO specifies a 32:1 ratio, I did so and using Castrol 2 stroke mix however is the 'smokey' performance due to too much oil? Unsure if this is the main cause, and wondering if anyone had any ideas? Additionally I'm using Unleaded 91 Octane petrol, should I be using something higher like 95 or 98 or is this simply an issue with the oil mixture?
Thanks in advance

Gidday Nizmatik, An welcome to the site . 32:1 should be okay in this old machine perhaps the smokey-ness is unburnt oil residue that has been left in the muffler after 5 years, if its running all right and the only issue is it smoking a bit, run it a bit more and see if the issue clears up, I run most of my 2-strokes at this mix and I run a lot of old stuff 15 + years old with no problems .
