Obviously shop around for the best deal. Here are a few I have brought from and not in order of preference.
For cheap power tools - the throw away models you do not want to spend a lot for.
Bunnings and the other hardware retailers.
Supercheap Autos
BigW
KMart
For serious quality tools
Carbatec
Timbecon
Power Tools and Machinery Sales
Toolmart
Glenfords
Gentronics
and Ebay for all if you are patient and can wait for the right price.Cheers,
Rod

Rod got most of the local ones I can think of, with the exception of United Tools outlets.
I would also add Rockler and Lee Valley in the US, esspecially for hand tools and small parts like hinges, inserts etc.
Hope this helps.Greatest Movie Quote Ever: "Its good to be the king!"____________________________

Don't discount bunnings for quality tools though, they are pretty competative with price. Personally I never drive past a pawn shop or cash converters without going in for a squiz at the tools. Just after Christmas I picked up a Bostich framing nailer, haulbold coil nailer, Makita circular saw and a Dewalt jakckhammer all for just under $1200. These all looked like they had come straight from the shop and were lucky if they had seen any work at all. The jackhammer on its own was woth $1395 and still had the price tag on it. You can also pickup good quality hand tools as well, I recently got a like new sliding bevel for $10 that retails for $45.
I do tend to steer clear of anything that is enscribed or lookes used as you have know way of knowing how the last owner treated it and I don't like having other peoples markings on my tools. The last thing I want is a confontation on a job site because I have someone elses tool in my hand and it was at the pawn brokers because it was stolen
