Default How much for Bench Saws?

My dad has 2 bench saws that hes wanting to sell, and I told him I would try and find a price for him and then also advertise them for him.

I can get some details when I speak to him.

I know what he paid for them and he said theres no way in the world he would get what he paid for them, that was about 3.5years ago.

Taddy, we at least need to know "how long the string is"

Diam of blade, motor power, size of table, structure of table, how easy are they to move, safety features etc.

But, even if we know that that sort of info I doubt we can give you a very specific price, this gear typically goes for what the buyer feels they can pay and how keen they are to get it.

If you intend to advertise them on the forum. I would suggest posting some pics of the saws. As BobL says, difficult to tell what you will make of them and I would agreee, it is doubtful you would get back what was paid for them 3 years ago. condition may also play a big part in the value of the item. One had to be realistic about what to expect to get for an item that is second hand. Most items sell here on the forum pretty quick smart if advertised at a reasonable price.
Most guys/gals love to buy from other forumites because they feel trust for each other and sellers tend to be more honest in description of goods offered for sale because they dont want to lose the friendship of other forumites just for the sake of selling something and getting rid of it. Of course, unintentional mistakes can be made when adviertising something so the buyer needs to ask questions of the seller if he/she is not quite clear on something stated in the ad.
If you put the saws up for sale on the forum, I am sure you will have many interested buyers at the right price. Good luck.
    Reality is no background music.
    Cheers John

Will ring dad later when he gets home.

I know one blade is about 7 foot.

One bench is a broken down bench.

Yeah no I will definately be getting pictures. Its just dad is 2.5hrs away from where hes got the benches and well they are only 30 mins from us, so I got the job of getting rid of the benches, 2 trucks and a loader.
He should be out this way hopefully in a weeks time, but yeah will ring him later to get all details, then might go get some pics.

    Thankyou
