The buyer protection scheme should work for him though it'll take months. I've been there.Cheers, Ern

LMAO, I must say I will not be buying anything from them after my experiences of buying a chainsaw, The oiler on my saw decided to pooh itself after not cutting much wood. I sent them an email requesting the bits to be replaced under warranty to which I was sent a comprehensive pricelist. Honestly do not buy one of their saws they are more grief than they are worth. I have a stihl034 that is about 18 years old that will not die only maintenance it gets is the odd clean, chains sharpened and bars maintained, and the air filter cleaned regularly, oh and the odd sprocket here and there. the baumr has had the starter replaced, it leaks oil every where when the oiler works, I have had it apart several times attending to all manner of problems that a new saw just should not have, The airfilter might have well not been there and required the manufacturing of seals to stop the sawdust going through, and all in the space of cutting probably 3 or 4 cubic meters of firewood. And i will also add that the bars they supply are not much chop, the tensioning setup is not rigid or solid enough and before much longer I am going to have to buy another starter setup. They advertise that it has a $1300 RRP but honestly it is barely worth the $160 I paid for it.
There are also some safety factors That need to be addressed on all of the saws that I have seen that they have sold. The biggest of these being that when the oiler actually works the oil does not oil the bar but runs out through the chain brake.
I have said it before and will say it again Buyers Beware. Honestly most of the people who would be buying these saws are people who do not have the best mechanical skills and they are a machine which requires continuous and extensive maintenance. A couple of trips to the nearest saw shop soon makes your cheap saw start to look expensive, and honestly you could buy a stihl, husky, shindaiwa or even an echo with half the ccs that would put out as much power. I bought the baumr chainsaw for a couple of reasons and one of those was so that I could give an honest review to people on this forum and to friends who may be considering buying one. I am not going to openly bag the seller as there enough out there who have made their dealings with them public knowledge.
My BEST advice save your money and buy a REPUTABLE brand saw from a REPUTABLE, SHOP OWNING, SERVICING, DEALER!!! And if possible buy a pro range saw!!! prefferably a stihlI am told that sharpening handsaws is a dying art.... this must mean I am an artisan.
Get your handsaws sharpened properly to the highest possible standard, the only way they should be done, BY HAND, BY ME!!! I only accept perfection in any saw I sharpen.

incase it gets pulled
This is my personal experience with AGR Machinery or Mills International Trading Pty Ltd, ABN 45 117 885 828
and in no way can be construed as typical, as I say just my experience.
I bought a chainsaw from AGR Machinery off ebay, after about 3 weeks a tree pruner arrived.
I contacted them to say they had sent the wrong item and I was directed to a link where I downloaded a service form which enabled me to outline any grievance and it stated that my return postage would be repaid if I included the postage receipt.
When I bought the item the postage was charged at $47, when I returned it it cost me $18 - figure that one out.
It has now been over a month and after numerous emails and requests for my postage to be refunded these are their replies;
Hi again, Pomjon1
Just a quick note to let you know that your item has been replaced and we will be posting your new 62cc chainsaw out shortly via Aust Post and your consignment number is 2929502796.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please be sure to get straight back in touch as we're always here to help out.
Best regards,
The AGR Machinery Team
Hi again,
The accounts staff process all reimbursements together every couple of weeks.
Best regards,
The AGR Machinery Team
Hello Jon. Should you wish to remove the negative feedback we are able to process reimbursement of your original freight cost ($47). Simply let us know if you wish to change it and we can send through the link for you. Otherwise it's best to forget it - not further communication will be entered into.
I have tried to bring this issue to the attention of ebay and PayPal but they don't seem interested. I have even raised the point that attempting to dictate feedback ratings to customers is strictly against ebay's policies but still no response.
I have to say that I do understand that mistakes happen and when they are rectified I consider that to be a sterling effort, but in this case it has been at my expense.
The chain saw is probably what I expected for the money - not very much.
No doubt ebay will pull this notice, they are obviously looking after AGRO Machinery and not the likes of us but I will just put it back up.
If anyone has an address for this mob please email me: [email protected]
I might just pay them a visit - with my new saw.
i have had my share of runins on ebay but have never thaught to do that

I just added to it my saws from them did what I wanted them to do but I do agree with postage rip off. I find it more fun now to upset bunnings then to stuff around with Ebay chainsaws.

AGR Chainsaws on ebay
Hi Guys, Just thought I would share my experience with, AGR machinery on ebay.
Firstly we are a moulding mill in melbourne and have had a Sthil MS290 that we have had for 5 years with no brake downs, only new bars and chains and the odd service here and there. we have 20 employees, so it gets bashed around a fair bit.
We needed another saw as one was just not enough. So about 8 months ago I purchased a Baumr 62cc from AGR. it has the same size bar (22'') and .2hp more than our sthil. (aulthough it is 9cc larger) weight is much the same.
If I had my eyes closed when cutting through any size cut the only reason i could tell them apart is the different grips. Yes the $129 chainsaw has every bit as much power and performance(it really amazed me). We have put the Sthil aside and only use as the second backup saw so we could give the cheap saw a good workout and put it through a bit of hard work.
Now, when I got the new chainsaw I had to tune the carb slightly(easy to read instructions) then I had to adjust the flow of the oiler with the simple screw adjuster as the oil I use is hydro oil and is thinner than bar lube. All was good for 1 month till I fowled the plug as I ran it a bit to rich (i knew it was a bit rich but like to run a little rich rather than lean and kill it) In the process of starting constantly I broke the pull starter(when it was fowled). Which when i told AGR they sent me out a new plug and starter, no questions asked. & 7 months later and many, many tanks of fuel later she is still going strong
Dont expect it to be as good as a Sthill or a hussy, but as far as product Vs dollar goes, I think it is a great buy and would buy one of these over an expensive saw any day. Great coustmer service and product. I will keep you updated with any problems i encounter with our cheap $129 chainsaw ($129 delivered to my door)

YEP have had the run around as well on a hedge trimmer that required 3 postings to get right . Got lots of spares . Use it twice a year . But only buy quality saws , as the time spent fixing aint makin money ,or much fun trying to get spares , can get some good buys on new and used huskys and stihls though if you know what you want . cheers

The QC with cheap stuff can be variable, so one guy has no trouble and the next has bulk.
OK as long as you're prepared for the lottery.Cheers, Ern

I'm no fan of AGR but that is not what I see when I Google "AGR machinery" AND "complaints". Of the 622 returns I get from this search 2 are for "AGR Machinery" the rest are for AGR. Machinery as in general agricultural machinery.
Care to post the exact search string you used?

So putting that into Google I get 342, 00 returns.
On the first page of links I see;
4 ebay links, 3 shopping best buys links and 3 complaints (one from this forum) and a couple of other links. I think saying google is full of complaints about AGR is a bit unfair.
If you drill down through the other pages you will see the vast majority of these links are to the general term "Agricultural machinery"
Like I said I'm not fan but they do have a 99.8% positive feedback on ebay whatever that means?
Interesting to see that on the "www.hometoolshop.com.au" website they claim; "OUR SHOP POLICY AGR Machinery is a proudly Australian owned and operated business. "
