Lucas question
Hi all!
Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on my problem. Milling a customers log in the yard this afternoon and everything was going fine until it started to rain. Now don't get me wrong I love the rain but I think it affected my Lucas!
After about a half hour of continuing to work in the slightly cooler weather I started to encounter a problem. no load mill was at full revs, all good but as i got into the log the revs dropped down ant it started to sound like a chaff cutter! I was only doing about a 90mm pass and i had to nurse it through to get the log done.
Moisture on terminals? any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Darren

i dont have a lucas and have never used one , but i would be looking at the air filter ,wet or damp it will have more dust stick to it which means when the motor is working and wants more air and cant get enough it will bog down almost like running with choke half on .
thats my first thoughts anyway and may be worth a look.'If the enemy is in range, so are you.'

That's really strange Darren, I havent had any trouble like that in the rain before, as others have said, try air or spark side of things. When last did ya clean ya filter? Does ur battery terminals have a bunch of wet saw dust around them?
I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
Allan.

Thanks Lads for all your help, I've not had a chance yet to try and solve it, have been too busy cutting trees. Wet sawdust a distinct possibility...
