Default Pico Lopro 3/8 drive sprockets

If anyone interested in trying a 3/8" rim sprocket suitable for pico lopro (LP) chain, a business in the states is about to do a trial manufacturing run of these. The sprockets will suit the standard large saw spline. The business website is Danzco Inc. Home - they are quite expensive at US$19 but that is because this run will be hand made and it will be a short production run.

This guy makes specialist milling gear including high count drive sprockets for racing and harvesters so he knows what he is doing

For those that don't know, 3/8 pico LP chain has a slightly smaller kerf than regular 3/8 so it takes some of the load off a CS when milling . Regular 3/8 sprockets will run for a while with pico LP chain chain but after a while the chain will jump the sprocket and cause a mess. Pico LP chain suits CS around the 70 cc range or smaller and although pico LP toothed sprockets are available there are currently no known suppliers of rim sprockets. pico LP is not suitable for 90+ cc CS in Aussie Hardwoods as the chain stretches too much.

cheers thanks for that BobL I tried to ask about Pico Lopro before as well as Pico Duro and how it works on slabbing mills and with Stihl making 12 chain types its a pain the bottom Its great when people tell us the size and or the pitch. It helps when your 50kms from town and have to send the cook in to get more chain as well.

Yep - that's what I'm getting mine for. Contact the website for specifics.
