Exclamation QLD: Gold Coast: WANTED: someone to slab up my Spotted Gum

Hi all, I have a spotted gum which I had felled about 7 months ago and would like to get it slabbed up if it is worthy of doing so.

    I'll try to upload a pic(s) asap.

The tree is now in 2 logs each approx 3.5m in length and around 600mm dia. (from memory).

I am on the Gold Coast (Northern End), is there anyone in the area who does mobile milling?

    Cheers, Will

    Some pics

The ends were not sealed when first cut down so there has been a little cracking but not much.

Looks pretty straight forward Will, are the two billets still lying off to the side of the driveway, or in a different spot now? If still next to the driveway, it seems as though I could set Bo up right where ya ute is and slice away and 3.5m long is a nice size, much longer and they get a bit heavy to carry around after being sliced up

Well Allen came out and milled up the logs for me over the weekend.
I must say, Allen is very professional and is the bees knees when it comes to milling.

Thanks for all the help Allen and it's a shame I became one of the few that you did a blade on, especially on the first pass.

Well I can tell ya it did happen, Saturday just gone.

Got out to Will's a little later than I initially wanted, but worked out fine in the long run

A pic of the logs after they where man handled into position for pics of the timber maybe Will can oblige, I forgot to get the 'after' shot when we finished.

Thanks very much for the kind words Will, made me blush You did a good job hauling your timber out underneath the house - hope you didn't pull up too sore across the shoulders today. Bit of a bummer hitting those nails, it's been a little while since I've hit stuff in logs, been lucky I guess. Anyway was a great day and good to meet another forum member.
    Thanks again Will
