I would lean towards saying
*Scots Pine, Pinus sylvestris*
This is a very nice pine for wide floor boards

.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Pine Identification
Hi Chippernumber1,
On the basis of the appearance of the bark which is not conclusive I'd be going for Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris).
If you need a definitive ID send me a sample of a cone, a bunch of needles and if possible a flower and I'll let you know.
Regards Old Pete

A simple "I think the other guy is right" would have been suffice instead of ignoring the post.

i've got a pine tree in the front yard with the same bark,i was told it was an umbrella pine. due to the size and shape of the canopy which during the day shades nearly 200 square metres

I bow to superior local knowledge. The bark is identical to Scots Pine, but on reviewing the pictures, there is far too much foliage for a Scots... that, and it's a hell of a big tree.

I reckon its SNOT pine,.....
oh thats right most pines fall into this category....lol. just joking but seriously pine is SNOT.I am told that sharpening handsaws is a dying art.... this must mean I am an artisan.
Get your handsaws sharpened properly to the highest possible standard, the only way they should be done, BY HAND, BY ME!!! I only accept perfection in any saw I sharpen.
