    Default Week-ends effort

    Hi All,

Just thought you might like to see what a couple of friends and I slabbed up on the week-end. We were told that the tree was Yellow wood, some of the more learned forumites may have come across this timber before and may have a more common name or scientific name for it. There were two logs about 2.2m x .6m dia which produced 6 slabs around 75mm thick plus various offcuts for clock faces etc. We couldn't wait to see what was under each new slab as we lifted it off.

    Cheers,
    Nev.

The tree was felled approx. 4 weeks ago and left on a couple of pallets to let the sticky sap dry out a little which turned out to be a good move.
