I was looking at some that had two microphones on the mouth piece on omni and the other directional. Thats what the light aircraft ones would have to have, but they are of no use unless you want to use them for communication. It's simply to stop transmitting background noise.
We once made them but seeing we were working in trees the boom mic was a real trouble so we increased the amplification and put the microphone in the ear muff worked well and simpler circuit boards.

I have two sets of general noise canceling phones. They work OK on planes but they're very ordinary (ie hopeless) with chainsaws and both my passive Peltors beat them hands down. Come to think of it the peltors would work better on planes but the thought of wearing them for 24 hours is a bit much.

I put in ear plugs and use earmuffs to be sure to be sure
